Role reports to- Baby R&D Associate Director

Location- São José dos Campos

Travel %- 10%

What You Will Do

The Principal Scientist Baby LatAm is responsible for independently conducting complex research projects, analyzing data, making technical decisions, and ensuring adherence to regulations. You will work towards the development of new scientific concepts and technologies, continuously improving materials, processes, and procedures, and accurately recording and retaining project information-

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute research plans and experiments to support the development of baby products in Latin America
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in baby product development
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property through patent applications and publications
• Conduct research and development projects independently using established and novel technology while applying consumer insights.
• Actively interact with Marketing, QA, Supply Chain, Medical & Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure effective execution of product development projects.
• Coordinate technical cross-functional teams to develop recommendations for complex issues.
• Manage multiple NPD/NPI projects simultaneously and ensure on-budget and on-time delivery of project goals.
• Identify, assess and develop new scientific concepts and technologies
• Practice continuous improvement in the development of new or refined materials, processes, products and/or scientific procedures
• Ensure quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review and adherence to applicable regulations
• Make decisions regarding analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and arriving at timely technical decisions
• Modify methodology to improve the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of data
• Record accurately information obtained in projects and ensure that records and raw data are properly retained
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a related scientific field
• Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
• Strong background in product development and formulation
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Advanced English is required

Desired Qualifications

• Strong background on surfactants
• Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and develop new scientific concepts and technologies
• Experience in continuous improvement of materials, processes, products and/or scientific procedures
• Ability to make timely technical decisions based on data analysis and interpretation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
