About this aopportunity

The Director, Business Development & Services, LATAM will be a key partner for the LATAM region focusing on new business opportunities, implementation of innovative business models and development of strategic partnerships. This person will be responsible for managing the LATAM Business Innovation and Services team to help drive profitable growth of strategic channels across the LATAM regions. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic individual who will oversee the business performance and provide strategic direction to startup business models as well as adapting and redeploying proven business models from the Americas to the LATAM region. He/she will focus on understanding the current market/industry situation, developing insights into future market and technological trends, as well as identifying and investing in the highest impact opportunities and building capabilities necessary to unlock these opportunities. He/she will drive the business through exceptional leadership skills, consistently championing and supporting the Align culture, with a focus on reaching optimum performance on an individual and team basis.

 

The Director reports to the VP of Business Innovation and New Business Models of AE region while being part of the LATAM leadership team. This role will be based in our office in Sao Paolo with a possibility of up to 50% business related travel.

 

In this position, you will…

  • Responsible for guiding, developing and challenging the LATAM Business Development Managers Team.
  • Creatively think and strategize about the possibility of new business models and revenue streams that would complement Invisalign and iTero adoption outside of Align’s standard / core commercial activities.
  • Lead creation, development and implementation of commercialization strategies for rapidly released features and SaaS components.
  • Partner closely with the Country and Regional Leadership and their teams to develop business strategies and plans that both shape and support the overall business of the region
  • Lead new business innovation, strategic partnerships, subscription and key projects across the LATAM regions, and start the service business and revenue-generating projects.
  • Align with the corporate strategy & finance teams to create financial models and scenarios to support new and ongoing business planning and modeling.
  • Analyze market research and data to develop and strengthen business cases and scenarios. Commission research where necessary
  • Oversees projects from strategic concept and initiation through delivery and interfacing with other departments members.
  • Analyzes and defines needs for resources and budget and is responsible for budget for the LATAM Business Development and Strategic Programs Group.
  • Represents the LATAM BD team on high-profile projects.
  • Works in conjunction with LATAM senior management to pursue and achieve tactical or strategic objectives pertaining to the long-term strategic vision assisting in the execution of work necessary to meet short term objectives as well.

 

In this role, you’ll need… 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, MBA preferred;
  • Minimum 12 years sales, business development and sales strategy experience
  • Direct sales management experience;
  • Medical device experience preferred;
  • Outstanding financial acumen, including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence the organization;
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal effectiveness;
  • Ability to effectively translate and synthesize analytics into key business objectives and findings to drive strategic decision making;
  • Demonstrated strong process orientation; organization and project management skills to handle multiple projects and manage timelines;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer/business needs;
  • Experience of working in an international environment preferred for a business head quartered in North America;
