The Last Mile Operations Sr Leader will lead the Amazon Last Mile operations for Brazil. The role will be a mix of strategic thinking (planning for the next 2-3 years on the key focus areas), tactical overview (planning for sales event/peaks, ramping up of capacities) and operational execution (day to day operations focus to ensure high bar customer experience). This is a people leadership role managing a team.

Role

We are seeking an experienced candidate to lead and grow the last mile operations in Brazil. The role would involve the following:

  • Laying out the overall strategy for Last Mile operations
  • Develop and grow the leadership team as we scale up the operations in the country
  • Lead the daily operations, drive operational excellence while at the same time planning and managing sales events/peaks
  • Responsible for key metrics on safety, people, operations, costs and quality

We are looking for somebody who is keen on working in fast-paced environment, thinking of new and innovative solutions to increase the bar on customer experience, while also willing to go into daily metrics and deep dive into root causes. The role is a mix of strategic, tactical and operational aspects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Logistics/supply chain/operations experience
  • Team leadership experience in a managerial position in a fast-paced logistics/supply chain/operations environment
  • Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, exceptional organizational abilities, as well as great attention to detail
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills are required, along with demonstrated problem solving and analytical capabilities
  • Be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
  • Be flexible to travel +30% of the time.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, including excellent writing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently liaise with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Strong business judgment, with a track record of successfully delivering quantifiable results
  • Think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support and adhere to scope of requirements and, above all, prioritize effectively
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently while thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and influence work behaviors
